Events, shows and performances
We at History Adventures are passionate about history, preserving it, learning about it, but most of all, helping people connect with it and learning just how fun and important it is.
When we visit a site, we bring everything that we need to give your visitors real added value and immersion in the event. All you need to do is choose a period of history!
We have trawled throughout the historical archive and brought back old games that were once popular pastimes in their day. These are set up in our games arena and are free to play all day for your visitors, meaning that we are providing entertainment and activities from the moment your gates open, till the end of the event. It is difficult to overstate just how popular these are with families, with many groups coming back several times throughout the day. We have even had visitors at our Victorian shows (where we have the most games) tell us that they will have to come back to the site the following day because they hadn't managed to get past our games arena, they were having so much fun.
Throughout the day we are in costume, being available to visitors in our area, providing help when needed and making sure that everyone is safe and happy.
On top of all of that we provide up to 3 shows each day that take visitors on a journey of discovery about the social and technological innovations of the period that we are representing. Whether it is our fascinating Roman Water Show, our exhilarating Knight School or our illuminating Trick of the Eye show, visitors will laugh and ooh and ahh as they find themselves transported to a different world.
Shows last for approximately 30 minutes (please enquire for full descriptions and timings) and we never repeat a show. This means that we provide more value to your visitors and they are more likely to stay for longer, resulting in happier families and all the possibilities that entails!
Because of all of this, we are well suited to holding the fort and being the sole entertainment provider for the event, and this is a very popular choice for week long events in the school holidays. However, we are just at home adding extra colour to a larger event with other providers, and we will always work with you to ensure that our part nestles in nicely to the larger whole.
